Very much south..
I was offered this girl yesterday, at a LFS I usually go to.

No one has a clue at what it is. any idea?

( Could this be african, a Tilapia of some kind? )

LOOKS LIKE A EX CICHLIASOMA UROTHALMUS--- MAYAN CICHLID WITH LIGHT COLORS. DOES IT EVER DARKEN UP?
 
it was my first guess. Too much blue color in it, I think.
 
I think it is a mayan also. Looks like maybe it has been beaten up?
 
its really pretty. Could it be a Mutt you know some kind of Hybrid?
 
I agree with Mayan. The blues are most likely the bars, and she looks stressed
 
I agree with the Mayan assumption. their colors can appear light or washed out depending on their mood. Too bad there's not a shot of the tail, that would help a little more with the I.D.
