Cichlid ID please

So I am talking to a long time friend from the Portland, OR area todaywho I havent seen for years and I asked him if he had any friends that are fishkeepers...he says, "yeah, I have some Cichlids" He said that he had 6 but now only has 2 but that they just had babies so now he has 6 fry in the 10 gallon tank too...he sent me the below photo...can anyone tell me what they are?

how big will they get? he has them in a 10 gallon...and as you see they have no where to hide

They can get to 6" but it's rare, 4" seems more common. Too big for a 10G but they're obviously happy enough to breed...though with cons happy enough to breed isn't hard to get to, they're horny little buggers.

convicts should do fine in a 20G (long) or larger . . .
