Cichlid I'd please

I bought this little guy as a specific species from a lfs but I'm unsure if it is what they said?
Don't wanna say what I bought it as but it looks like a true parrot in my opinion?
Fish is about 40mm.

lol, he is, very inquisitive little guy too... after googling for quite some time after I started this thread I am fairly sure he was labelled correctly, looks nothing like the adult at this size and colouration tho!-)

Here is a pic for reference of a female about ready to peel, with a young male in background. These fish had just been netted and transferred to a new tank and maybe stressed.

I have been googling again, I'm not sure... googled Cuban, pearsai and black nasty babys, I dunno if the id was right... theres no red line in the fin which makes me thinks its not what its supposed to be...
