Was told this was a Dovii but something tells me it's not, it looks off, doesn't seem to have that longer snout and it's short, stocky and thick.

It does have that silver back like a Loiselle, what you think? It's 8".

Agree with ehh, looks more like a motagaguense, or one of the other similar Parachromis.

Trying to figure out if I should buy it or not. He asked me to identify it as it came in as a Dovii and right off I was 99% sure that wasn't a Dovii. I need to go back and take another look.

I'm gonna agree with Duanes, kinda looks like a male moatguense. Albeit not the prettiest one I've seen lol. But probably stress is the culprit there.

I would lean towards some kind of mix in parachromis family....or RTM
