The guy at the LFS was correct, it's a hybrid of some sort.
Agree with Andy, and if your LFS says its a cross, because its a cross there is "no " visual way to tell anymore than that, without a DNA test. And even with that, the ID would only be what the parents were, as a cross it is "not " a true anything.
Looks like a old school red dragon. Also appears to be fading from the looks of the top trailers.

Forgive my ignorance, but what’s an old school red dragon? Only info I’m finding is about a red dragon peacock cichlid.
Sorry i wasn't too clear on my post. I meant to say a red dragon flowerhorn. You should post your fish in the hybrid section you might get more specific answers about this fish.
