Looks like an albino peacock cichlid, probably a dragonblood or some type of firefish. Aulonocara sp. looks like a female to me.Hi guys. Need some help to identify my new cichlid fry. Appreciate it very much, as I would need to know its compatibility, temperament, potential size and growth rate.

Also the fry grow very slowly, mine are about 8 weeks and 1”, without a pic of the male, there’s no way to know what type the fry are, but dragonbloods and firefish are hybrids.Hi guys. Thanks for the detailed and comprehensive feedback. Really appreciate it.Looks like an albino peacock cichlid, probably a dragonblood or some type of firefish. Aulonocara sp. looks like a female to me.
About 5-6”
Fairly aggressive but not powerful if that makes sense.
Other peacocks and haps of similar size
They’re somewhat prone to Malawi bloat, I feed mine kensfish African cichlid flakes with metronidazole. I’ve never had bloat after using this food.
Here’s a vid of my Aulonocara tank, there’s a few haps but mostly peacocks
Thanks for the info, palAlso the fry grow very slowly, mine are about 8 weeks and 1”, without a pic of the male, there’s no way to know what type the fry are, but dragonbloods and firefish are hybrids.
Good luck with the fry! Congrats! , I’d move them to a small grow out tank as well
Usually, I have seen females with one or two egg spots and males with none tho. Color and the dorsal fin are dead give aways. Males dorsal fins are pointed and somewhat elongated. Here’s a vid of one of my male dragonbloodsBTW, do females if this particular breed are without the egg spots on the anal fin?
Thanks for the clarification. You sure have a video for each occasion. ?Usually, I have seen females with one or two egg spots and males with none tho. Color and the dorsal fin are dead give aways. Males dorsal fins are pointed and somewhat elongated. Here’s a vid of one of my male dragonbloods
