What you purchased the fish as is correct. It is a gold variant Parachromis Managuense
I agree, I had a normal pair of managuense in the 80s, that in every spawn would produce a few non-spotted individuals like those in your pics.
As others have stated it is a Parachromis Managuensis, gold morph. Commonly referred to as the gold Jaguar cichlid. Similar to how tiger oscars are oscars with heavy red coloration, this is a jag with minimal spotting and a bright gold sheen.
