cichlid identification needed aswell

i bought two of these last year from a local fish store. they bread last year and was able to raise 60 babies. the babies have grown and i sold 50 of them to another local fish store. i have no idea what kind of ciclids they are. i have been told twice what they are but i just cant remember. any help would be great.

Cichlasoma or Aequidens sp.. Most likely a Port group Cichlasoma but I saw one or two Aequidens that look pretty close.
South American cichlid BTW, not African.
