cichlid madness

hi i have a 5 inch cutteri cichlid,he took a beating from a jag,so he has a few small wounds on his body,all is good its nearly fully healed,the the i noticed is that the cutteri goes on his side and lets the smaller cutteri offspring around 1 inch pick at his sores is this natural

Sorry, back on track. I've observed the picking sores off each other with my angels. (I had a crazy pleco that decided to attack everyone then bail in the same night. I'm still confused with it...)
