I'm looking for a magazine that focuses on new world cichlids, and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good ones? The ones at my LFS are all about community fish and I'm specifically interested in cichlid magazines. I have festae, RTMs, la ceibas, and Cubans. Thank you

Subscribe to cicichlidae.com, more of an encyclopedia than a magazine but should keep you busy for a while.

I haven't seen any around since my favorite shop closed down but look into Cichlid News.

tropical fish hobbyist is a good rag.... they have good coverage and pics of nw cichlids , quite often:popcorn:

Thank you for the information everyone, I'm looking to move next year and I'm hoping to expand my cichlid collection. I'm gonna do come research on some must haves for my future fish room. I'm hoping to get stalsbergi, gorillus black umbees, and may be some lysoni. Who knows may be through the magazines ill change my mind again lol. Right now I've got festae, RTMs, la ceibas, and Cubans. Good news is my fiancé is already on board with me getting as many tanks as I want...hooray :)

now that's good news,, enjoy that freedom!

Although Cichlid News doesn't focus solely on new world species, it is an excellent publication, and if you browse the back issues on their web site, I'll bet you find plenty you'll want.
And if you join the American Cichlid Assn, they have a quarterly mag, the Buntbarsche Bulletin, and you'd get access to all their past issues and articles, on line.
