Cichlid missing a chunk of flesh out of side.

Well i noticed in my 55 yesterday that one of my cichlids looked like it had a bit out of the side of it. Any thougths? In the tank are 12 africans all around 3 inches and a 4 inch pleco

it will regrow just raise the temp and add some salt it will be back in a week or 2

Looks like infection after injury. Change some water, add salt, and raise temp. Good luck.

I think they had skirmishes and that little guy got cut by the decoration and infected thereafter.

usually they hit soething wwhen being bullied or another fish took a chunk out of him with his mouth

What are your water parameters? and Filtration?

Looks like an ulcer, which can appear for several different reasons.

Looks like an ulcer, which can appear for several different reasons.

Filtration is AC110, Fluval 204 and a hydro 5.
Water Params: ph 8.2 Akl. 120ppm Hard. 150ppm Nitrite 0 ppm Nitrate 10ppm, and i don't have an ammonia test kit, will try to get a better photo later
