Another member and I had been talking about this magazine. He stated that he wished the magazine was monthly and would pay 3x the price of each issue.
The magazine is published 4x a year. For those that don't know this is the best fish magazine out there IMO. Here you get authors like Loiselle, Leibel, Rambo, Coleman and Konings, not to mention great pix.

so my thought is, perhaps if alot of members email cichlidnews.com they will maybe change the magazine to every other month.

Alot of people don't even care about printed media anymore, be it books or magazines, but anyone can post in a forum, and be a forum expert, but getting published would be big feather in your cap.
so thats another idea. you all can submit articles in the magazine and/or pictures.

so, everyone should email them to encourage them to change to a every other month format, subscribe, and submit.
its a great magazine, please lets all contact them so i can get this great magazine every other month!!!!

I haven't looked at this magazine and will check it out. My problem with most fish magazines though, from what I've seen, is that they read like an instruction manual, or intense profile, on a certain fish or aquatic set up. That can be helpful, but I can also find that on the web. If I were to start up something like that maybe with a Web site, which I've considered doing if I ever have the time - I am a journalist - I'd feature hobbyists and do stories about how they got into cichlids, where their fish are from, how much everything cost, what kind of deals they found, bad experiences, etc.

yes, you should check it out.
I think if you get the back issues, you save alot.
Maybe with you being a journalist you can show them some work and become a regular with your ideas.

Many of the authors are Ph.d's, and i have had conversation's with them, they sometime talk over us common peoples heads. Not all of them are Ph.d's, there are regular people who submit articles.
I think if more regular people submitted articles, the better the magazine could be for the rest of us, a nice mix of science and everyday fish life.
Perhaps the more regular people submit articles and get published, more people will read it. It is a great magazine. i'm only missing 2 issues out of the 16 year history of it.
Pix can't be beat except by Konings own books.
