Hi all! I am the proud owner of a 29 gal with primarily Angels a couple gouramis, loaches, and synodontis, then I have a 10gal with guppy fry that I will not be keeping, and another 10 gal with cherry barbs, moonlight gourami, and serpae tetras. Because I am highly addivtive to my fish. I am getting a 55 gal and I plan on moving my angels and gouramis, would love to add some beautiful cichlids smaller colorful ones. Mbuna types...is this just a pipe dream and not possible to intermix what i have with what I want as far as cichlids go? Or are there any that stay small bright colored that will go with my Angels etc?? I'm considering Kribensis (sp?) and keyholes..feedback and suggestions are welcome:)

Thanks,
Irene

Sorry to say that mixing the Mbuna and your angels / gouramis won't work. The mbuna are far too aggressive and will kill the others.
I haven't kept kribensis or keyholes but they may work. You could also look into acaras or maybe german rams.

I LOOVE the Rams but they seem difficult to keep from what i've read. Soft acidic water. My ph is just under 6.8 and my temp is between 80-82. Are Rams as sensitive as they appear in the various articles I've read?

I have a 29gal set up with 8 kribs, 3 rams and 1 angel. The kribs get a lil territorial, especially when spawning, but everybody is doin very well (3 months so far), the kribs to tend to pick on any new guys i add to let grow out for larger tanks tho, but it only last a short time then they get bored

I should also add that the kribs dont bother the angels. Just the rams and new additions.
