I have a 60 gallon pond that I want to turn into a cichlid pond. I want some malawi cichlids or Tang cichlids. I have a pile of rocks for the fish. Any ideas? One more thing I should probably tell you. My pond has some live blood worms. Would this cause malawi bloat? I thought I would get some advice from "cichlid people" before I started.:turtle:

yeah,is it outside? I raised peacock cichlids, including O.B.s,sunburst,and eureka reds. The sunburst looked the best, followed by ob.a lot of tangs might not look as good due to the camo nature, like fronts wont stick out too much in a pond, compared to a sunburst/dragonsblood.The obs actually resemble koi !

The pond is outside. Temp is 70 to 80 degress. Would zebra cichlids and auratus cichlids work? I like the idea of peacocks. How about kribs would they work.

sounds like it might work well... just dont forget Auratus are highly aggressive even by cichlid standards... that being said i now have 4 (1 male 3 female... used to have 4 females and a male) and they are all pretty peaceful with a N fusco who actually picks only on the male, but i did have to remove a female that took on male colors and was highly aggressive to all the fish... she even managed to tear up the fins and pull off some scales on the fusco which is twice her size

maybe not those zebras.maybe cherry red,the light blue ones, yellow labs,or albino white.you need these bright colored ones to stick out, here is my 600g hot tub pond w/peacocks:D

I'm with spartacus, when it comes to peacocks. they look the best. Especially OB's. I also heard natural sunlight makes their colors pop

I like those peacocks. How much could I expect to pay for those? What is N fusco? Would electric yellow labs and electric blues work? Those are some nice colors that I think would really pop.

nimbochromis fusco is a hap that gets pretty large.Too big for a 60.the yellow ones look good.blue is harder to see, that's why I said lighter blue.I like the white, red and yellow
