I want to get a smaller tank for a few cichlids. Im think a 55 should be good. I was wondering what are the cichlids that stay under 5 inches and are very colorful? Are they the kenya cichlids or something? Im looking for there catagory too so i can ask the ppl on here some more questions..

Thanks

There's over 1000 species of cichlids... some get 3'' some get 30'' long or more.

Kenyi get 6'' by the way.

Just scroll down to the forum titled "Cichlids" and look there for more info.

Cheers,
Art

if small and colourful is what your after then african rift lake aka old world cichlids would probably suit you fine, kenyi are rift lake cichlids i think. like artemis1 says go to the cichlid section and pick your area.

if you want something small that is also attractive, go for some tanganyikans, like lamp. leleupi

Thanks Joe, i think closing it will be best. Im gonna research some things first.

Spend some time researching different African cichlids. They sound like what you're looking for.
