Cichlid Rookie

Hello Everyone!

I am a long time fish lover who is entering the cichlid world! I have a 25 gallon tank and currently have 2 beautiful blue ram american cichlids in there. We really want to put 2 electric yellow cichlids in there but I have read that this is not a good idea. However, I thought I would ask the experts in this forum! What are your thoughts? Advice?

it is a bad idea unfortunately. those 2 fish are not compatible at all.

Not only are they from different continents .. Which really isn't the issue..
But the labs as stated or most other African cichlids will eventually destroy yoru rams

More or less, they will oblierate the rams within the hour. Dont do it.
How could you sty away from the cichlids if you claim your a LONG time fish keeper?

The yellows will demolish your rams. Why not breed rams, or convicts in that tank? That would be awesome.

Wow, tough crowd(mystix)!!! Thanks for the advice. I like the rams enough to keep them over the labs, so my next question is, what other "colorful fish" would you suggest? Convicts, rainbows....????
