Helo everyone, this is my first post and I look for your input. I have a 29 Gallon (new setup) that I have put sand substrate in. I am using this tank for a breeding pair of convicts. Water is very cloudy and wondering how long that lasts? should I start the filter? there are no fish in tank yet I set up earlier today. Thanks in advance for response

i'd say turn on the filter. if you put in some media from your other tank it'll cycle the tank for you. it'll also help to clear the fogginess of the water. the water should be clear again within 24 hours

i wouldnt put the fish in untill u cycle the tank cause thats not to good for fish to be put in a brand new tank, cycling a tank is basically when benifical bacteria get in the tank and start to break down waste into harmful chemicals. to cycle the tank i would either get an old filter from an established tank and put it in there or get some little hardy fish to get the tank cycled like cherry barbs or some small fish like that. it can take any where form 2 to 3 weeks to cycle a new tank. and i would turn on the filter to
