Isla Taboga Panama via Milwaukee
Due to my upcoming move, I've been gradually divesting my tanks of some largish fish, but yesterday a friend had some of the new trimacs from Cichlids of the Americas spawn.
So I've been asked to temporarily hold some of his other new ones until he's set up more tanks.
He brought over a half dozen lyonsi

a couple extra trimacs

bunch of Vieja synspillum (melanurus)

This my first time with lyonsi and the syns, and there are also some carpintus and pearsei, but they have yet to cooperate in front of the camera

Never have, this is the !st time.
I think its probably more odd that this is the 1st time for synspillum. They have been very common in my area for a long time.
Too many cichlids, too little......

Off the top of my head I could probably think of 100 species of cichlids I've kept over the last 5+ decades.
But there are 2000-3000 species out there, so I've about 1900-2900 yet to go.

great pictures. im always jealous of your photos.

i mind a lyonsi or a trimac.

Lyonsi are one of my favorites I might get one day. Pearsei as well, but I would need a bigger tank which I don't have time to properly care for atm.
