So my fish have gotten pretty big for my 150 gallon. Im looking to get rid of all my current stock and start over. Seeing as how i recently bought a 1 inch red tiger motaguense. Im looking for other cichlids that would work well with this cichlid when it gets max size. Any suggestions? The tank size is 6 foot long.

150 seems big but when it comes to the parachromis species, it seems they're always causing trouble in cichlid "communities"...

I know 150 isnt very big when it comes to big cichlids. Im just looking for another cichlid that would holdup well and wouldnt get too big. Maybe 2 if possible. If it isnt then maybe i could stick my rtm in a 90 to itself and base my 150 around a smaller cichlid like the salvini?

If you're just looking for one or 2 more then I think there are several good option. Original post just made it sound like you were going for a bigger group. Dans suggestion of a RTM of the opposite sex sounds solid, but I think (don't hold me to this) an amphilophus species may be good.

I guess i should of been a little more specific in my original post. Im looking to only have 4 or 5 fish total in the tank. 3 cichlids a pleco and maybe an oddball fish of some kind. I dont want to overstock the tank like it is right now haha. I guess thats what i get for taking in so many fish my brother didnt want.

My female RTM tried, and would have succeeded had I not stopped her. To kill everything in my tank. She did manage to kill both the pleco's I put in with her. And she was only 4 inches. I think a pair of RTM's would be awesome. Maybe see if you can get like 5 more little ones and get a pair out of them.

How about some fast moving dithers.... can provide the RTM a distraction too and also if you plan to add a potential mate... it would have got hopefully acclimatised.

Hmm the way its sounding i should keep one of my big fish i have right now and put the rtm in the big tank when its big enough. Maybe keep my red devil or jag or my red texas to keep in the tank with the rtm. Kinda sounding like the rtm is more of a hassle than i expected lol.

Yeah, before I had an RTM I had always seen them compared to Jags in aggression, however after having one and reading more I can say they are significantly more aggressive, Albiet beautiful fish.

Now granted, each fish has an individual personality. So take it for what it is.
