So I'm going to go all cichlids all the time :headbang2

What do you think of this stock list for a 150 gal?

Already have:
2 Chocolate Cichlids (pair)
3 Geophagus Dicrodozer
2 Convicts (males)
1 Green Terror (white saum)

I'm thinking about adding:
Firemouth?
Severum maybe pair? Maybe more than one color?

What do you think? I shooting for more middle of the road cichlids, not the known killers. I know the possibility is there with the GT turning evil on me, but until then...

I'd do 5 Geo's, the rest looks good (GT make's me a little uneasy, as it will grow large and grow fast) Maybe try to get your hands on some flame tail cons, in a tank that large you could do a breeding pair or even 2.

You're saying 5 more Geos, or add two to the existing 3?

The GT is only about 3" and easygoing as any. I'll keep an eye on him as he grows, and if/when any agression flares up, then he'll be out quickly. I have a spare 55 I can set-up any time for him.

hey belcher, you have a pretty good stocklist going right now
personally i would only get one chocholate because they will rule the tank when they breed this way it would alot you to get maybe 4-5 geo's and a severum, and instead of convicts i would get fire mouths
im gonna pm you about your mini sump too

Geo's can hang with CHocolates, GT's and Convicts? I wasn't sure if they were agressive enough. Just curious, never kept them. Be prepared to move the GT, mine was passive too until he hit 6-7" now he's a beast, and like to try to push everyone around. By far my most interactive cichlid though

Sounds like a cool tank and I Like the fact you have a 55 for back up. Good plan!

The geos hang in there pretty well. They chase eachother around mostly, and sometimes the Cons give them a nip but that's all I've seen.

How big are the Geos? Cons giving them 'nips' when they're bigger with their beautiful streamers is going to cut down on how stunning they are.

Personally I'd ditch the cons for more Geophagus or whatever you prefer that's a little calmer. I'd also hope the Chocolates don't pair up, otherwise you're in for some trouble because they're big fish in every sense of the word, plenty of body weight to push around. If the Gold Saum doesn't feel threatened it probably won't be aggressive at all.

I would do some of the other smaller Cryptoheros instead of convicts, if that is the look you're going for, otherwise, maybe a male red hump eartheater, just for attractiveness

I like the whole ditching the cons for more geos...they're awesome. My geos are 4" or bigger and the con's are smaller. So far their fins are no worse for wear (fingers crossed)

I vote for more geo's too ... Geophagus, Gymnogeophagus, and Satanoperca seem to do better and enjoy being in groups. I'd go at least 6 or so.
