I have been keeping fish for many years and have 7 tanks in my fishroom, I have never kept cichlids and was thinking about a new tank, green severum cichlids , peacock bass, Geophagus surinamensis cichlids and Geophagus jurupari cichlids being the different ones I like, which ones if any would be okay together all the new fish will be babies when I get them

I do have a 5 inch bass already in my stingray tank, when I said I haven't kept cichlids I ment to say I haven't kept more than 1 before,

I got a 700 l I can use or a 450l I can use haven't decided yet which one

Gonna need the 700l to do peacock bass, some people will tell you that is too small as well. I'd say you could probably get away with the one bass you have (but don't get any more), and some severums/geophagus would do okay with him in there. The bass get huge and will eat anything it can get ahold of, but aren't actually very aggressive. Good luck

Agreed. Try them and thin down to the manageable bioload. Let the water tell you what kid you have. In tanks like this, it's all about managing the water quality.

If you geo's, get the medium sized ones so you can do larger numbers...maybe a trio or a group of five. Winemilleri comes to mind as a good match and they are available right now from rapps. Stick to no more than a bonded pair of severums. The severums are such a diverse group of fish that you can obtain at least six wild strains today, but all have slightly different size and care requirements along with having so many color variations that you can easily find one that perfectly matches your criteria.

Keep us updated!

TRUE G. surinamensis will be extremely difficult to find. it is not a common fish in the hobby

Yer of cause I had no intention of keeping the cichlids in the 700l when they start to grow they will go into a 1800 l tank,, they get far to big to keep in a 700l, thanks for information,
