what are some veggies that africans like to eat i tried green peas they dont like well any input whould be great

A good spirulina pellet or flake food, Anacharis and Java's but they can be a little messy. I also feed duckweed that grows in my pond and turtle tank. Left over Romain lettuce and Green Zuchinni but the fish didn't devore it. They ate it, but didn't hammer it.

Mine like blanched zucchini and celery

I make a conconction that my fish love. I adapted it from a DIY article out there to make this hard frozen veggie bricks.

I boil a pound of frozen peas, then a blend them in a food processor while stirring in 1 package of plain gelatin mix. I throw in a couple of raw deveined, shelled shrimp as well. Keep blending, then I add in a teaspoon of minced garlic, keep blending.

Once its all very uniform, I pour a small amount into a zip lock sandwich bag. The I force all of the air out of the bag, zip it and flatten the mix. I stack the pile of flattened bags in the freezer over night.

Then I take one out a crack into 3/4'' by 3/4" flat chunks. I throw one chunk a day into my tank and it gets devoured.

I will try and find the original DIY link I got the idea from.

Wow, I may have to try that I bet they love it! Very nice idea.:)

thats a really good idea! im going to try this... cichlidboy--i saw in the other recipe that it says to blend it until its just very small chunks ( just a little lumpy).. if you try it tell us how they like it..

oh another treat i do for them is i take cucumber, zucchini and yellow squash.. i cut them longways (i take a knife and run it over the cucumber to remove most of the seeds-my fish dont eat those and they just make a mess in the tank) and i seperate them into ziploc bags and freeze them. when i want one, i just take one or two out, rubberband them to a small rock and sink it in the tank.. the fish immediately attack it (along with my pleco) Its really fun to watch them..

the garlic stimulate their appitete. That is why you add it. I use it for fishing... Also you have to deshell the froze peas...they can not eat through the shell. I can put in two whole romine lettuce leaves in my 135 and they eat all of it...
