any idea on how many oscars are too much for now. was going to have 4 and two other 4 inch cichlids in a 125. is that too much. i have a fx5 and am adding a xp3

Yes!!! Another thread that I can go against the grain! With enough filtration and w/c I believe you can keep 2 in a 75g, 4 in a 125g and 6 in a 180g. There is a difference in having a tank too small for your fish and being overstocked. Overstocked works as long as you're overfiltered and have proper maintance. I would also like to add if you were a member with 1000+ posts and posted a video of your 125g with 4 mature oscars, you would get a slap on the back.

What's this post supposed to mean? Honestly I couldn't imagine 2 14" Oscars being comfortable in a 75gal

Like I said, there is a difference between having a fish too big for its tank and having a tank overstocked.

So your saying a 75gal with two Oscars is too small yet not overstocked if so I agree. That's why I said the sizes I said it's more comfortable for the fish(more room for territory) in above mentioned tanks

^^^^
Is she your creepy old woman? lol

2 Oscars personally sounds good for a 125. But that's several years later.
