Is it okay if I do keep the hybrid babies? I am okay with them
You can but don't give them to anyone especially the LFS.

Thank you, I have my 125 community tank and I don’t mind hybrids. My fish are solely for my viewing purpose and I don’t plan on selling them. I am not fully stocked on fish so if the fry do grow to maturity it won’t be an issue. One more question, my cobalt zebra (the one holding eggs) was bought in a pair. Is there any way she spawned with him since they are the same or is it likely they are from a different male? Also many people have community tanks with many different cichlids, so do they just not keep the babies?Yes. But maybe you are better off with a 55G minimum because you should get 20 or more.
You may not want to keep saving the fry because you will need to keep buying tanks.
It's possible but also possible she bred with another male of a different specie. Most just let nature take it's place so most fry will be picked off. Thank you for all your help!Unless you have 1 male and 4 females for every species in your tank, you cannot know if your fish are pure.
Malawi do not do well in pairs since the male is likely to kill the female. People with mixed gender tanks most often let the moms spit the babies in the tank. We even go so far as to stock Synodontis for fry patrol. Or they may choose to raise the occasional batch if they want to sell, give away or raise to add to the main tank. This works if the tank is stocked to avoid cross breeding and if they can be as sure as possible the fry are pure.
