Going to revamp a tank to keep mbuna cichlids, clown loaches and a freshwater dolphin, if possible. Right now looking for some or 1 catfish to complete the tank. Any ideas? Not looking into syndo catfishes, raphaels and plecos though.
Currently, some of the catfishes I am looking into are hoplos and granulated, maybe asian bee catfish too... my tank is about 100gallons.

Hoplos will get killed. Bumblebee cats will get killed. No idea about granulated cats.

The dolphin will be a problem one way or another.

Syno cats are really your best bet - and there are tons of different ones to choose from.

If by granulated you mean a bacu (pterodoras granulosus) that is a cat that WILL get a minnimum of 24" and wind up eating your mbunas eventually.

Hoplos are tough, but they'll get worn down over time and don't really have a means of active defense. I rescued 3 of mine from an African stock tank at an LFS - their fins were practically stubs.
