Hi all! I would like to keep cichlids. I have room for a 36 g bowfront. I'm guessing convicts would be the right choice. Wondering what other types of fish could also be in there? Thanks!

Firemouths should be in a 55 I think. For new world, convicts or chanchitos, Gymnogeos, Biotidoma, Rams, angels, festivum.... long list.
I think that tank is 30" long. If your looking to go African, I'd go either a single group of smaller peacocks, group of dwarf mbuna or go Tangyanikan.
