Hi,

I have a pair of Green Terrors that have decided to begin breeding almost as fast a convicts. I am in the process of building a pond in my backyard, is there anyway the GT fry would survive if they were put in the pond to be raised?

Thanks in advance

I think your losses would be higher but I imagine they would do ok as long as you could keep the temp stable I would raise them as big as I could before putting them in the pond though.

Thanks for the reply, the pond will be empty besides them. Could I put the breeding pair in the pond too? I live in North Carolina so the temperature shouldn't be a problem.

animal kingdom has awesome outdoor ponds with tons of cichlids. theyre africans but i'm sure you could do the same with SA cichlids

since you are in NC, you may need to get heaters for winter though

they are also heated at Disneys Animal Kingdom. I stopped and asked one time.

I am only going to keep them in the pond during summertime so I won't have to purchase a heater. I am eagerly awaiting the pond being finished so I can start stocking it.:)

where abouts are you in NC? I just set a pond up myself
