Have a small worry. I've had my tank established for almost three years now. About a week ago I had to completely break it down and move it across the room. Before moving it my fish would eat nonstop like pigs. Now after setting them back up. They were only out if the tank for maybe an hour. And they don't eat w the same gusto. The amount of food I used to put in gets wasted. Like more than half of it. They still eat a little and they don't act sick in any other way but they just don't rush the surface like they used to. I'm wondering if they're still a little scared after being moved around. My silver dollars resumed eating the same day. The cichlids didn't eat for almost two and a week later still not eating much at all and nowhere near the normal amount. Any ideas?

give them time to settle in. they'll get bacck to normal.

How's your water quality? You could have started a mini-cycle with the move. I'd check for ammonia and nitrites.

I've tested the water. That's fine 0-0-20~. I kept the filters running. It was almost Ike a large water change because I reused 25%or so of the old water also. In fact the female jag has dropped her breeding tube. But they're just not hitting the food as hard if it all. I guess they need a little more time to settle in is all. I'll give them another week. Thanks everyone.

Poor water quality, crap pH and Ammonia I suspect.

In the post directly above yours the OP stated his water parameters as Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0 and Nitrates around 20 PPM. How does that equate to poor water quality? I suspect the fish are still stressed from the move and will slowly start to settle in and come around. Instead of just posting random words it would be beneficial to actually read the tread. Otherwise your intentions may be mistaken as having another purpose.

He's a troll. Look at his other thread he was posting in from yesterday.

The amount of crap you contribute around here is astounding. Learn to read first and foremost.

To the op: as others have said, the change is most likely to blame. I've had a jag hunger strike altogether for almost 2 weeks after a move. They'll come around.

Riddle me this: What happens when you're 0 and 2 and you're caught looking at a breaking ball that just nicked the inside corner?
