Hey all
Looking for some cichlids that are plant friendly. Only catch is they have to have a max size of 5-10".
Any suggestions?

Thanks Jamesy. I like the firemouth idea; angels and discus are too slow. I should add that these fish will be housed with a puffer.

Firemouth dig so the only plants that is good is either in pots or growing on driftwood...

Many cichlids don't eat plants but they like to shred plants...

You can also try floating plants...most digging cichlids don't bother them.

All the plants will be anchored to driftwood (low light plants: java fern, anubias, etc), so I'm not overly concerned with diggers. The puffer is a fahaka. He has been with a breeding pair of convicts for the past couple of years, but I've read that cons can go crazy on live plants.
Also liking the idea of the Nicaraguensis.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Keep 'em coming please.

In my experience, almost all will shred plants. Mine don't eat any, but they love to turn their tank into a war zone.

Pike cichlids and Paretroplus have done well for me with plants
