I am needing a list of cichlids that do well in a planted tank. Haven't kept very many in a few years, kinda forgot about their behaviors.

i think blue rams do well with plants, mine did. and kribs.

Not really into any of those, any other ideas?

try something other than cichlids?

pretty much most south american cichlids not mentioned in this thread will eat plants or uproot/dig them up all the time, which makes it very hard to do plants effectively..

you can try putting plants in flowerpots right in the tank, which can help stop the ones that dig them up all the time, but some, like severums, festivums etc often eat plants.

sometimes, people get lucky though. I have seen festivums and severums in planted tanks for example, I tried it and they ate salad each day for lunch LOL

sometimes it depends on the particular fish you get.
