Are there any south American cichlids ie red terror, umbee, or any other good colored cichlids I can put in with my arowana that will be ok in a 330 gallon custom built plywood tank?

Oscars are often put in with arowana. If it is a silver arowana then go for it, i dont know too much about the other cichlids.

If it is a jardini then the cichlids will be beaten up

If it is an asian aro get a more mellow specie of cichlid

Well I have a large datnoid that's 12" in with my 11" arowana, and I dropped in a female 5" Jack Dempsey that is doing fine so far! I'll watch um closel! But it's a large 330 gallon tank so they are fine for the moment! I'll throw in a pair of Oscars and see how they do I was also thinking some catfish to help clean the bottom and help me maintain the bottom food everyone else eats at the top sp

Not sure I follow the catfish logic...they just contribute to the bioload more than a bit of missed food...but I've had an Oscar and a huge beautifully blue Dimidiochromis compressiceps in with a silver. The compressiceps did beat up some of the others but didn't touch the arowana. Honestly I wouldnt get another one but it did work until he beat up the others too much.

All my fish eat at the top of the water so food that sinks just gets left to rot if I had a catfish or something that hovered the bottom it would help keep food from having to be neted out by me every time kinda sucks cause my flow pushes it to the back and my tank is 4' wide hard to reach even with a net lol
