That should get your attention.
I was wondering if anyone else has ran into a similiar situation. It seems like any small female i put in my tank goes bonkers trying to breed with my JD. I obviously know the solution, I have other tanks available. Shes not doing any damage just chasing my fenestratus around. Shes probably doing damage to my filters with all the sand, But she looks absolutely brilliant.

Over the past week she has grown 1/2in. or more plus a little bump on her head. Shes about 3 inches.
You see the convict in my avatar? My JD turned her that color. Females trying to impress males IME have been the most aggressive strange actions ive ever seen a fish do. It seems to be healthy for her, which is good for creating my cyano based red tex in the future :D I just need the right male.

Wow, she's so pretty and getting a nice kok. I WANT A TEAXAS!!!! No room though.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but in order to make red tex you need a male tex and a female blood parrot. Since all male blood parrots are sterile. Other then that her colors are amazing. Any chance of some pictures of the jd?

True. But you would be foolish to believe a Red Tex is purely a BP X green tex.
I plan to line-breed and see what comes out of it. Step 1- involves finding a nice fertile male red tex. Step 2- King kong blood parrot from thailand? -Yes is think so. From there who knows. This will all take some time but seems like an enjoyable experiment.
I do have pics of the JD, but yet to get one that captures his swagger. Ill try again.

Hlshaw and Darth Pike obviously missed the topic of discussion here.
Trolls post about putting lysol in their tank and get 4pages of responses. 6 pages to identify a male dempsey.
Im starting to think knowledgeable fishkeepers went else where due to the abuse of these forums.
What should i feed my convict cichlid? - fock off, 900 pages about it on google but there will be 5 pages of reiterating useless info here on mfk.
You people just love reiterating facts you find on the internet.
Is there any knowledgeable people still out there? or just people who just try to flame and prove everybody wrong.
Like why would you even take time say that Darth? You think its cool to try to be a moderator?
The topic of discussion is: horny aggressive female sa/ca cichlids.

The best advice any knowledgable cichlid keeper would give is to get her a nice texas male or give her away to someone with a nice male to breed and make more nice babies. But I think you already knew that.

Oh, and your title is misleading. None of your cichlids have a kok. The proper term would be nuchal hump. HTH.

nice tex she looks really pretty. i loved when my female carpintis would show off to my male haha they looked superb
