can i use cinder blocks as a stand for a 75 gallon tank?

Sure can. Been done many times before.

Hello; You might want to start the first row as flat and level as possible. Also I have used construction adhesive when sticking bricks and such together. A few dabs between the blocks should keep them from moving around and is mostly temporary.

I believe you are going to want something to put across the top of the bricks to support your tank though, depending on length vs width, maybe a pair of 2x8's or something.

Yaaa baby... cinder block stands are the best. I stacked a 55 and a 60 with nothing but cinder blocks and 2 x 4's. you won't have any problems with a 75...

75 gallons is over 600 lbs of weight to be careful. That said cinderblocks work great. However, there is one caveat with them. They are designed to be placed with the holes up, so use them that way. I have seen cinder blocks crushed when they are placed on their sides with the holes parallel to the ground..

Many years ago, I had a 120 on 8 x 16 with plywood on top. Worked great for years.

Mine is 4 blocks high, I used 2x4s between the 2nd and 3rd blocks creating a shelf underneath, and it also seems to sure up the stand from a racking, side to side action.
