can you use cinder blocks in an aquarium? i just got a 110 gallon, and am trying to make a support structure for the rocks, as the tak is 30" high.

I think the concrete in the blocks would raise the PH of your water. However, I've used bricks, made of clay I guess, in a sump before with no problems.

Not sure about blocks but I use bricks with no ill effect...These pics are a "catfish condo" that I threw togethor for 2 Eclips cats and 2 Bumblebee cats. All 4 are about 1.5" in length. Their is usually 1 cat per hole...

In this one you can just barely see the little guy in the bottom right hole...

if you do cure the cynderblocks by using one Gal of viniger to five gal of water then soak it in fresh clean water... ph would probally be a round 7.2 tops and you could controll it

the cinder blocks would raise the ph but clay bricks or terracotta pipes or bricks would work great and look good too
