So I am picking up a 120H and an angel iron stand next week and would ideally like the tank to sit higher. I know I could have build a wood stand to my exact specs but I got a good price on the iron stand and I really don't have the time. Can I use cinder blocks to lift the stand? Ideally get it up about two feet with two 12 inch cinder blocks under each leg.
Thanks

Just make sure legs are sitting close to center of blocks as possible, and make sure check stand with level.

I assume you mean hollow cinder blocks.

Whenever I have asked experts or read about it, people have always advised me to place those blocks with the cores and shell faces facing up. (That is, you can reach down into the center from above.) I've used them that way myself, with no issues.

However, if your plan is to use them sideways due to the stand, that might not be a good plan.

I can't really say, my concern is if your stand is like my old angle iron one I had for my 135 the legs went straight to the floor putting all weight into a pretty small area. I don't know if it's enough to crack the pavers or not. I ran a 2x4 flat under them so I didn't gouge my dad's floor

I was going to use a solid large stone paver over the wood. is that ok?
I would go Celebrist's route, and put the wood between the stand legs and pavers. My reasoning would be that the wood would disperse the weight out more over the paver, rather than concentrating it into small areas directly onto the pavers.....which could possibly result in total failure(pavers shattering)
