Apparently this issue hasn't come up yet. What is the healthiest level of circulation with rays without leaving them vulnerable to turbulence stress?

I put a Powersweep 228 (270gph) at the top with the downward flow adjuster on it, so that it would circulate water over the heaters. I don't think this is a problem, but right here on the desk next to me is my new Rio 2100+ (692gph) and I'm wanting to put it at the bottom to give them a current. I'm just worried that it might stress them out. What's the deal?

What size tank is it again?

Ive had some really good current in my 125 at about 1000GPH all blowing from L to R and my ray at the time was fine. Sometimes he would swim right up to the fastest part of the current and then slide down since it was BB. Pretty amusing.

I've kept them in fairly calm all the way up to a pool that could have actually passed for a river of moving water. In that set up, the motoros seemed to stay right in the main areas of water movement instead of at the protected sides or deeper/slower moving water.

So a 1200 gph Koralia would not be to much for a couple of new motoro pups?

solid 1800gph in a 220 gallon tank no problems....

I have a Koralia 3 and plenty of water moving with HOB, a Canister fileter, and a Penguin 550. My ray tends to sit in the high flow areas.
