Am I concerned for no reason? Or should I do something about it.....

I have a six foot long tank. my automatic feeders are at one end and my overflow is at the other end for obvious reasons (but of course some food still gets stuck in the prefilter of the overflow).

What I've noticed is that the food coming out of the feeder either sinks quickly on the right side of the tank OR floats along the surface to the left side of the tank until it gets sucked into the overflow. I have a 4 inch pictus catfish and glowlight tetras that hang out in the plants underneath the overflow, they don't seem to like to wonder anywhere else in the tank and because no food either gets to the left bottom corner, I'm concerned that they are not getting any food.

All the other fish in the tank will either feed off the top or will swim to the left side of the tank where the food sinks.

Should i do something for the catfish and the glowlight tetras or am I just being paranoid (if thats the right word).

I wouldn't worry about it. When they get hungry enough, they will follow suit with the other fish and swim over to get some food. I would just keep the same routine your doing now with the auto feeder. This is giving your fish a reliable routine that they can get used.

the revolution - thanks....I guess, I did just want some comfort that I didn't need to do anything.

geronimo - I hear ya. my first one was a cheap one and on some cycles it fed way too little and then on other cycles it fed way too much. They are quite inconsistent. My second one being more expensive was a bit better but still not perfect. and then of course, accidents happen.

But this thread was more about the fish then the feeders, if I wanted to complain about automatic feeders, I'll title the thread approrpiate.

thanks again
