So the suction cups that come with the Maxi-Jet 1200 Pro are not sufficient. I have to push the suction cups back on to the glass every few days because they fall off. I could get new suction cups, but I think it's the vibration as much as it is crappy materials (using it in circulation mode).

Thinking of switching to some sort of DIY magnet system or maybe a bracket that I can hang from the top of the tank.

Anyone come up with a creative, inexpensive, effective way to keep their circulation pumps (MJ 1200 Pro, specifically) from falling off the glass?

I remember seeing a magnet mount on the web somewhere a few months ago but it was like $50. What a ripoff.

I was going to suggest the magholder....what I have done is made a bracket out of acrylic, bent to hang on the tank and then used velcro(the kind they use for bundling wire) and attach the pump to the bracket. Zipties work also.

That pump leaked stray volts into my tank, I hate it. I would test for stray voltage and if its good you can always silicone the base on, and when cleaning just take the head off.

You are right. It also did to me. I just put this on the tank for illustrative purposes. I don't like these for the noise also. I keep this in my fish stuff junk drawer.

Thanks, all. I ended up purchasing some epoxy-coated neodymium magnets for the inside (I'll attach these to the bracket somehow...epoxy maybe) and some non-coated magnets for the outside. When they get here I'll update the post with how it went.

I like your bracket but I keep my circulation pump much lower in the tank along the short side, and the tank hood would interfere with any sort of bracket. Definitely looks good with your overflow, though.

I'm running this in my 125 and there is no noise coming from it when it's running. Maybe I got lucky with a quiet one!
