What exactly does a cites do for a buyer? Does it actually offer any protection? There are a lot of asian looking aros offered with a Cites. Let me know someone. Some of these aros are pretty slick.
 
All Asian aros must have CITES (Convention for the International Trade of Endangered Species) to be sold across borders. Most CITES animals are Appendix II, which means they need the CITES paperwork to cross international borders. Asian aros however, are Appendix I, which means all trade must be accompanied by certificates, hence the microchipping to prove they aren't wild collected.
