CITES Considers listing stingrays.

Read the article in the March 2013 Pet Product News International. It is coming to a vote at the COP 16 meeting in Bangkok, Thailand scheduled for March 3-14. The proposed appendix II listing will affect Ceja, Motoro, and Flower rays from Colombia and Ecuador.

Anybody else see the article by John Dawes?

Wow. No comments? The article said the quotas for 2013 will remain as scheduled with a 18 month grace period if you will but I expect avail and prices will creep by late 2014.

Interesting, however being both breeder and importer the hobby is better off with captive breeding let the wild rays be kept by breeders for new blood lines.
