I'm thinking of putting a ck in with my bgk, would that be a suitable tank-mate?
I heard about not mixing electrogenic fish, but I heard a few times that ck's don't produce electricity.

CKs do not produce any electrical pulses, but it's a hit or miss with this combo. I think there are a few members that have this. I've had it in the past with no issues, however, the BGK was getting bigger so I moved him to a bigger tank after about 2 months of being with a small CK.

it can work . just make sure you have two or more hideing spots or caves for each to hide in. had both from 3"-5" to 12"-14" together. but once the clown hit 14" started seeing agression towards the bgk, might depend on the fish i guess. would recomend 125g+ tank when they reach 12" i think the clown was being territorial rather than dislikeing the bgk.
if you deside to go for it good luck! both are awsome fish :)

thanks for the replies, I'm going to try to find a juvie clown and hopefully it will tolerate the bgk.

I just went out a picked up a nice ck it's about 4'' or 5''. Both the bgk and ck are hiding in the same cave and I've noticed they keep rubbing their bodies together? I'll post some pics and try to capture a video when the ck is settled in.

Eventually, someone might get kicked out. Make sure you have plenty of hiding spots for your Knives.

will do, there are a few overturned pots in there for them.
