I am going to be upgrading my tank soon. This will leave me with a free tank. I have a situation now.

I thought I would be stuck with a 150 gallon, but it looks like I might be getting a 225 gallon! :D In the 225 tank, I will have a clown knife, an ornate bichir, a senegal bichir, a gold severum, a trio of clown loaches and a trio of bala sharks. I'm thinking of keeping the senegal in the current tank though. Can discus go with this set up? If not, I will just have a different set up for the discus in my smaller tank. However, I REALLY want to add a trio of discuss to this set up since they would add a lot of beauty. If not, I have a different set up in mind for the discus.

Discus with clown knife? No. The only fish I would ever consider per your list are the bichirs and BGK. Sorry but discus prefer less boisterous tankmates. A lot of fish you mentioned are not categorized that way. And by the way, you are adding discus at the wrong number. You want 4 or more, not 3 or less. Once a breeding pair is formed, the loner is practically harassed constantly.

I think it can work for a little while. I'm not too familiar with Discus, but I think a large CK can make a meal of a Discus.

Thanks for the input. I can be happy with a shoal of discus, bgk and senegal bichir tank or even just a bgk and discus tank. I notice you did not mention the golden nugget pleco. Is that a bad idea with discus?

I forgot that pleco totally.lol It'll be fine. Just make sure to have a spare tank in case it latches on the discus although this doesn't often happen if you have a varied diet for the pleco.

That would be a nice tank;)

Why not get rid of the Senegal and keep the ornate-Senegal don't get that large only 10 inches top and run a risk of getting eaten when the CK is larger-where as an Orante is more attractive and gets to a more comparable size.
