does a clown knife really need hideing places? mine usuly hangs out under a cave i made ,hes only 5-6 inches at the moment,

would he be k without a hideing place as ive seen larger one in pictures have no hiding place as there to large to fit under anything prety much..

so if i took his spot away would he become stressd and die or what?

also whats the growth rate like with these guys?

cheerz

I would continue to offer a hiding spot untill they start to come out more. It seems they get a little more brave with size.

Mine always hid when they were babies. Now they prefer the open and enjoy seeing what's going on around them. They're still a little skittish, but only if you run up to the tank quickly...

Mine tend to hide big and small. but still come out from time to time...usuually late evening. I just solve the hiding issue with making sure their favorite spot is in a LEES Ghost Tube :)

i have a 10" royal clown and he still loves his hiding spots. he's sloooooowly starting to come out more during the day because thats the only time i offer food for him. i think your clown would be happier if you kept his cave.

my ck outgrew 3" pvc and wedged himself in it yesterday! i had to pull him out and he got all scratched up. i took the pipe out for safety. sort of off topic but had to do with hiding places so i thought id share.

^ i took out my rck's favorite pvc because he was getting too big for it. he still has some wood to hide behind though. i was scared he'd get stuck in his pvc and i guess that does happen.
