Every now and then, my CK intentionally rubs itself against the gravel on the floor of the tank. I don't see any white spots on it so what could it be and is this anything to be alarmed about? If bad, what can I do about it? The CK is in a 55 gallon grow out tank. It is 4 inches long and shares the tank with a 3 inch senegal bichir and a 2.5 inch gold severum (which I just bought almost 2 weeks ago).

My red-tail black shark died a few weeks ago and I have my 2 bala sharks (3 inches each) in a different tank for the time being.

I see my CK do that as well once in awhile. Nothing to worry about too much unless it's doing it a lot.

i just noticed mine doing that last nite for the first time

yea thats normal ''play'' i think. Mine always flys out the cave whiptails and spins around to dive down near the gravel and slate to rub it .
i even caught my lil golden jumping upstream into the filter media area on my AC110 .
my bgk will lie on its back and swim upside down in his cave sometimes.. basically rubbing his cave lol.;

my rtbs does this a lot. he doesn't show any signs of disease what so ever. i think he might just be cleaning out his home too. has quite a big belly from my senegal's, id sharks', and ck's feces...
