Hey everyone i recently bought a Clown Knife for my community tank. There's an internal powerhead air-rating the water and the bubbles seem to be getting caught in its slime coat? I've noticed abit of its slime coat floating through the water as well. Is this normal or is it stress or water related? It's the biggest fish in the tank at 12.5 inch and is the most dominate fish so I don't think its stress. The tankmates are a Ntt datnoid, flagtail prochilodus, senegal bichir, red snook, mono pbass and pleco. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Luke

my CK never had that problem but i did have a raphael catfish who's slime coat come off alot and looked like small sheets of skin.i was told it was due to the difference in ph he was use to but no idea if it was true or not.couple weeks later it stopped on its own and as for the micro bubbles i see them in my 210 on the fins of the fish time to time.

Thanks libayn I didn't even think about that. I completely forgot I have two raphaels in the tanks as well.. That'll be what it is then. My other fish get it every so often just seems to be more bubbles on the knife then anything else. Obviously nothing to worry about.

Really funny how this was just posed a couple days ago and here I am searching the same thing. I have a senegal bichir that's got the same thing going on. I can almost see his slime coat and there's bubble that seem to attach to it as he swims through air column. I was somewhat concerned that it could be a fungus.
