hi i am currently growing my ck in a 4 ft tank to put in with my o's in my 6 ft tankk the oscars are about 9-10 inches and there is 2 of them. the ck is roughly 9 inches and i was wondering how big should i grow him before i add him to the 6 ft tank???

i think there size is fine to be put together now but might wish to keep a close eye since i have read more than one post of CK and Oscars not getting along well including my 2 fish.

my oscars are reasonably timid but so is my ck and although they are roughly the same length the oscars are a lot deeper bodied. i was think growing myy ck till its roughly 12"

I would wait till the CK is larger than the oscars. Another problem you may have is the fact that there are two oscars and they were in the tank before the knife. They may be territorial with the knife when it is first introduced and kill it. Usually, an oscar and a CK are a good mix if they grow up together and the knife is a little larger starting out. Also, make sure the oscars aren't a mating pair.

Your CK will stand up for himself if the Oscars try anything on him/her. Trust me Mine Is the most aggressive fish i have ever kept and I have kept Convicts,Midas,Red devils. He even tried to attack me look! :ROFL:http://www.youtube.com/user/iCantTinkO***udName?feature=mhum

It is VERY rare for a CK to be this aggressive. Your link does not work, can you fix it? I want to see this! :)

I grewout my CK with two oscars. There were confrontations but none so serious that I feared losing a fish. I put a 6" diameter PVC pipe with a 90 degree conector in the tank for the CK to hang out in to make it feel more comfortable. This has alieviated the confrontations, but unfortunately the CK is now in hideing the extreme vast majority of the time. I am not positive exactly how much better not seeing your fish is that seeing your fish quarel!

The size ratio has changed considerably. The CK was at one time considerably smaller than the oscars. Currently the Tiger oscar is around 13", the red oscar is around 15" where the clown knife is around 2 feet long!
