I had 1 clown loach and decided that I was being selfish so got him 3 more buddies so they can hang outside do loach stuff but these last few weeks I have noticed he stays there under the log with his pal the Clown pleco L104 and he never comes out. Can't really get a good pic as the plant is in the way but you get my point.

Hmm, how long have you had him? I think loaches really enjoy it when they have at least 5 in a shoal. I'd give them all time to settle in. Having lots of hiding places spread throughout the tank (stuff they can swim into like log decorations you get at Petsmart for example), a bunch of tetras or schooling fish, and dimmer light are a few things that could help. If there is a big difference in size between this one and the newbies that could be a factor. Good thing your keeping an eye out. I would make sure you don't see any ich developing for the next week just to be safe. Try frozen bloodworms and algae tabs to get them clicking!
