hey guys

i just saw this beautiful walking catfish's in local fish store

so i'm setting up an 125g tank next week and i really want to get one of those , will it be ok for the fish ?? cuz the tank is kinda small , and how long i need to keep it before i change the tank for it cuz i know its grow very fast

I kept one and they grow pretty fast, a 125 will be good for a while but they need a tank with a 2ft width as they can get to 16” and are very active. A 180 imo is minimum. They’re very interesting fish and will eat everything you give them

Yeah that should be fine, I would 100% make sure you can get a bigger tank as these guys are hard to sell and I had trouble selling mine at 5”

125 will be ok. At the moment I have 4 clarius just over 30cm. They like to dig and eat very greedily. Be careful handling them as they have spines in pec fins which I believe are slightly venomous. If you want to keep more than one buy them at the same time.

I can speak for the venom it's nasty I had a bad reaction when stung by a 3 incher didn't know of a solution to stop the pain so steaming hot water for about an hour straight worked
