I don't want to spend about $200 for the parts that I know nothing of...

what does these things do????

Regulator, solenoid, needle valve and co2 tank? (then attached to a bubble counter???)

The following items can just be plug and play????

picture is for reference (does not included the ph controller (in the middle) and the co2 reactor on the top)

read the stickies that cover equipment. explains everything :)

no point spending $400+ on those equipment (cost more than saltwater)

regulator regulates the amount of flow of co2
senoid is just an auto shut off valve
ph controller is just shut off the valve when the ph is lower than the preset ph

>.>;;

too much money for such simple job

I will just go with a bubble counter + a bottle of co2

like DIY co2? as in yeast/sugar? you wont spend that much on equipment. you can have a full co2 kit for less than $200

the reference picture I posted in my first post...

the co2 kit + tank .. the owner asking $220
the ph controller ~ $200
the co2 reactor ~ $120

thats over $500  for an advance type of setup ... to do such simple job xD

Anyway i got the bubble counter, and the airtight bottle from nutrafin! Id think that they will do a great job as those advance type of equipment :O Except it can't turn off at night ;)

well there a huges difference, youre talking about co2 from the reaction between yeast/sugar vs. pressurized co2 setup.

theres no way youll spend that much. check it out:

- Milwaukee regulator/solenoid/bubble counter/needle valve on ebay $100
- 5lb co2 tank: $60
- DIY reactor: $25
- mechanical timers for light and solenoid: $7 each

there you have it, a full blown pressurized co2 kit for less than $200. a ph controller is NOT REQUIRED. its more of a luxury. i did not run one in my tank as i never saw the need for one

How do you refill the CO2 tanks?

i swap them out for full tanks at a welding supply company. costs $12 for a 5lb bottle. or some places will refill your tank
