Hi, just after a few expert opinions please. I have bought a 2-3" Clarius to go in a 6x2x2. At the moment he is in a 55 gallon with 5x Elephant Nose, 1x Silver Needle (false Gar), 3x Freshwater Archers, 4 Pictus cats and a Centipede Knifefish.

My question is, which of these will be ok to move to the big tank with him? The Knife is the only one I think might be able to go but just wanted your opinions please? If none, do you have any suggestions for a few larger oddballs to put in with him?

Thanks in advance

p.s. The big tank is already set up but it was brackish so I am just returning it slowly to freshwater with some mollies so it wont be too long untill they can go in.

I wouldnt move any of them with it. If it's Clarias batrachus it'll very quickly grow to 16-18" (they'll grow an inch per week if you feed them enough) and it will be constantly active at night making their lives hell. At least that's a real possibility. They can be peaceful, but they are capable of ripping up even large fish.

Keep it tightly covered!!

Thanks for the reply, the Silver Needle and the Knife are the only ones I really wanted to move over, the needle is around 7" already and the knife around 9-10". You still think it will grow too quick for these?

Clarias are real monsters.
Very active day and night, looking for food.
Had one some time ago, whit a large pleco over 2 times the size of the
Clarias.
Heavy damage to the fins and eyes whitin 2 days.
Best you keep them alone.
Good luck
